Student Support
Today’s students are the future of our conference, and also potential employees of our sponsoring companies. EIPBN offers a heavily discounted registration rate for students to encourage as many students as possible to come to the conference. This year in Anchorage, we are very happy that special arrangements have been made for students in discount housing on the campus of the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
We often forget how important an event like EIPBN can be to a young scientist or technologist, but for many, this is their first exposure to world-class scientific presentations. It can be exhilarating, but also a time of some anxiety, as students wonder whether their own presentations will “measure up” to the excellent work they see presented.
Companies can be especially helpful to EIPBN by relieving some of the student’s financial anxiety over conference travel. This is done by making a donation to EIPBN to support ravel expenses for students coming to the conference to present their accepted abstracts.
There are two ways companies can support students at the conference, The suggested donations are:
Student Support Contribution ( $2,500.00)
Make a payment directly to EIPBN, designated for the student support fund.
Student Room Upgrade (4 nights at the Hilton) ($ 850.00)
Pay to support lodging at the conference hotel (the Hilton Anchorage) for a student otherwise staying offsite at the University of Alaska student housing.
Companies who make contributions to support students are entitled to:
- Attendance by a corporate representative at the Friday Student Breakfast, and
- Participation in the Virtual Job Fair, in which EIPBN distributes CVs of students
nearing graduation. For more on the Virtual Job Fair, Click here.
EIPBN is a 501(c)(3) Charitable organization for Scientific and Educational purposes, and contributions to EIPBN for student support may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
