Student Support
Students are the future of our conference, and are also potential employees of our sponsoring companies. We therefore ask sponsoring agencies and exhibiting companies to make a contribution to provide financial support for a limited number of students for a portion of their expenses for travel to the conference.
In exchange for their receiving this support, students are expected to volunteer their time to provide assistance to the conference management, providing such services as Conference Committee members may deem appropriate. This usually takes the form of providing AV assistance in the oral conference sessions or logistical support for the poster presentation.

IF YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST, YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THIS TRAVEL AID.
Funds for support are donated by government agencies and corporate sponsors, and are therefore limited to what we receive. To be considered for these funds, two criteria are necessary:
1) The student must have an abstract accepted for presentation either as a poster or an oral presentation, and
2) The student’s faculty advisor must send EIPBN a letter requesting support for their student.
All requests from Faculty Advisors should be received at EIPBN by May 1, 2010, and decisions will be made by May 15, 2010.
For a sample letter requesting funding, click here.
Given that the funds are limited, it may not be possible to meet all requests for student support. Additional weight will be given to students whose abstracts received a high ranking from reviewers, and to requests for support which have arrived earlier than others.
To send a request letter by e-mail, please send them to: eipbn.chair@gmail.com. To insure receipt, please also include a Cc to: feldman@ece.lsu.edu and melissaw@widerkehr.com. Please use the phrase “Student Support” in the Subject line.
For requests by post, please follow the general form of the e-mail, and mail it to:
