EIPBN strongly encourages student attendance, and this year we will provide both financial support and special program elements for student attendees.
EIPBN encourages student participation and offers several forms of support including financial.
Limited funds are available to students for financial support.
Students who wish to apply for financial support must meet the following criteria:
To apply for financial support, submit to Conference Chair the following:
The three-page abstract and request for support letter must be submitted together no later than April 26, 2020.
The abstracts are for EIPBN use only.
Financial assistance is limited to reimbursement for room nights spent at the conference hotel.
Students get a special registration discount and are invited to attend a range of functions focused on professional networking.
The Student Breakfast features talks from managers from industry, government and academia about job openings, and gives students a chance to discuss career opportunities in these fields over breakfast.
The Mentor Lunch lets students pick the minds of professionals from academia, government and industry. It’s a chance to hear from the experts why they chose their field, what it takes to get there, and what it’s really like once they arrived. The Mentor Lunch also features a speaker who provides an expert “how to” discussion on new topic each year. Download speaker Dr. John Notte’s 2019 Mentors Lunch talk title “First Impact – Making the Right First Impression with a Resume or CV” here.
Grad Students and Recent PhD’s
EIPBN has long recognized the superior quality of the students who attend our symposia. This year we have again arranged to send C.V.’s of students and recent Ph.D.’s to a group of well known universities and companies.
If you wish to have your C.V. distributed, please send an e-mail with your C.V. as a Word or PDF attachment to mfeldm1@lsu.edu. Please state that you have registered for EIPBN 2020, that you wish your C.V. to be distributed, and that you expect to receive (or have received) your Ph.D. within 3 years. The subject line, and the title of the attachment, should both read “EIPBN 2020 jobs” followed by your family name. (for example, “EIPBN 2020 jobs – Feldman”)
Please limit your C.V. to 2 pages. If your paper(s) has been accepted for EIPBN 2020, please also enter the author/title information and the short summary prepared for the pocket program guide as a third page in the C.V., with the heading “EIPBN 2020 Papers.”
