Jessica Andriolo

Jessica Andriolo, Montana Technological University

Jessica Andriolo is the 2026 Early Career Award winner at EIPBN. Dr. Andriolo is a Research Associate, the Director of Technology Transfer, and an Affiliate Faculty member at Montana Technological University. She leads research and translation efforts within the Montana Tech Nanotechnology Lab (MTNL), overseeing a multidisciplinary team spanning undergraduate through doctoral researchers and contributing to the development of the institution’s nanofabrication and characterization capabilities. Dr. Andriolo’s work centers on electrospinning as a versatile platform for functional nanoscale materials, with applications spanning biomedicine, energy, and environmental technologies. Her group has developed electrospun systems and materials for antimicrobial and antiviral therapies, photonic drug delivery, photovoltaics, flexible and wearable sensing, energy storage devices operable in extreme environments, and environmental filtration systems. A defining aspect of her approach is a strong emphasis on translational impact, with multiple technologies progressing toward commercialization, including licensed inventions. In addition to her research, she has played a key role in building infrastructure and educational pathways in nanofabrication at Montana Tech where she helped establish the first cleanroom facility and developed new interdisciplinary coursework in biomedical engineering.

Eligibility

Nominees for the EIPBN Early Career Award must satisfy the following criteria:

    • Have made significant advances to nanofabrication technology and presented that work at one or more EIPBN meetings.
    • Have received their terminal degrees less than 10 years prior to the year under consideration.
    • Be in a full-time appointment in academia, government laboratory, or industry.

Nomination Procedure

Applications to the award should include:

  • A one-page application form including the name and affiliation of the candidate, the number of years in current position, the year terminal degree was received, and contact information for two references who are active at EIPBN.
  • A one-page description of noteworthy contributions and future vision to nanofabrication technology and service to EIPBN.
  • Current CV.
  • Two letters of support from active EIPBN participants (program, advisory, committee members, etc.).

Please submit by email a single PDF including the application form, description of contribution, and CV to the EIPBN Conference Chair at cc26@eipbn.org. The applicant should also arrange to have the reference letters sent to the Conference Chair before the deadline.
